Earl was born, March 17, 1928, at Galt, Missouri to Maude (Glidwell)
Durbin and died, March 1, 2009, at Omaha, Nebraska. The family moved to
the Greenwood, NE area when he was two years old and then to Ashland, NE
when he was sixteen. Earl retired as a layout operator on the insulating
lines for Western Electric/AT&T.
He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers Western Electric/AT&T and
served as a Fireman on the Ashland Fire Department for fifty years and
as an EMT on the Ashland Rescue Department for thirty years.
Earl is survived by his wife of sixty years
Joan, sons, Steven E., and
Daniel L., daughters, Jolynn K. and friend Mark Reber, Sheryle R. and
husband Steve Olsen, grandchildren, Kelly S., Denise N., Dustin J., Cody
J., great granddaughter, Savanna R., brother in law, Bill and wife Jane
Fidler, sister in law, Emma Mae Fidler Hill, and many dear nieces and
nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Betty, step sisters,
Lois and Viola and stepbrothers, Charles, Truman, John, Lawrance and
Forest.
Visitation: Wednesday, March 4, 2009, 4:00-7:00 PM at Marcy Mortuary
Services: Thursday, March 5, 2009, 2:00 PM Marcy Chapel, Ashland,
Nebraska
Interment: Ashland Cemetery, Nebraska
