Edward passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018 in Syracuse, NE. He was born on August 2, 1937 to Albert Joseph and Mary (Tower) Thiel.

He served in the US. Air Force. He was employed at Western Electric/AT&T Lucent technologies as a Machine Operator.

Survivors include 4 sisters: Rose Towle, Margaret Cline, Joyce (Larry) Carnicle, and Chris (Rollie) Hill; sister-in-law Jean Thiel; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Mary Thiel; and brother Albert Thiel.

Visitation: Wednesday 1-7 P.M., Hammons Family Funeral Chapel, Weeping Water.

Services: Rosary at 10 A.M. with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:45 A.M, Thursday, September 20, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Elmwood, NE.

Inurnment: Cemetery at Elmwood.

Memorials: Donations to the American Heart Assoc., or Elmwood Rescue Squad.
