Ron A. Proctor was born on November 10, 1939 in Ashland, Nebraska to Arthur
and Esther (Endicott) Proctor. He attended school in Ashland through the
eleventh grade and graduated from York High School, York, Nebraska in 1957.
He joined the US Army after graduation and served from August of 1957 to
August of 1960. He was stationed in Korea and served in the Army Security
Agency. On December 29, 1959 while home on leave, he married Elaine Cooper
at the Methodist Chapel in York. After his discharge, they lived in York
where Ron worked at the missile sites in the area. They moved to Ashland and
Ron began working at Western Electric in Omaha. He worked there for 35 years
and retired in 1997.
Ron passed away at his home on January 18, 2012 at the age of 72 years. Ron
was a member of the United Methodist Church and the V.F.W. Post #9776. Ron
loved to fish and enjoyed going to Lake McConaughy with his brothers. He
also enjoyed hunting in his earlier years. He was a very talented carpenter
and rebuilt their home. He was a perfectionist and the work had to be done
right. Ron was very proud of his sons and his grandkids. He was also a
Husker fan.
Ron is survived by his wife Elaine; sons Blaine Proctor, Kansas City, MO,
Tracy Proctor, Syracuse, NE; grandchildren Jenifer and Joshua Proctor,
Wahoo, NE; sisters in law, Pat Proctor, Ashland, Myrtle Proctor, Omaha, NE;
brother in law, Irvin Stephenson, Council Bluffs, IA; preceded in death by
parents; brothers, Jerry and Jack Proctor; sisters, Betty, Lois, Marjorie
and Elaine.
No Visitation.
Memorial Service: Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 11:30 AM United Methodist
Church, Ashland, Nebraska. Private Inurnment - Ashland Cemetery, Ashland,
Nebraska.
