Richard E. Petty, age 91, was born on October 20, 1924, at Broken Bow,
NE. He passed peacefully on May 30, 2016 in Mesa, AZ. He lived in
Overton, NE until attending the University of Nebraska where he was a
member of Theta XI fraternity. He worked at Western Electric in Lincoln
and Omaha for 36 years and was a lifetime member of the Pioneers.
He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by
all. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara after 63 years
of marriage.
Surviving are; daughter, Susan P. Long (Stephen) in Fountain Hills, AZ;
son Thomas. L. Petty (Lynn) in New Zealand. Four grandchildren and 3
great-grandchildren.
Services: A small Private Service will be held at a later date.
