Charles E. 'Charlie' Palensky

Palensky, Charles E. 'Charlie'
8 Mar 1931 - 24 Dec 2018

Charles E. Palensky “Charlie” was born on the family farm outside of Prague, Nebraska, to Charles L. Palensky and Anna P. (Svoboda) on March 8, 1931. He enjoyed his childhood with 2 brothers and his sister, Geraldine. He graduated from Prague High School and later began working as a mechanic/gas station attendant in Schuyler. He met his wife of 66 years, Susan on a blind date. They waltzed into each other’s hearts and were engaged on May 5, 1952. Charlie and Susan were married shortly after on November 15th of the same year. From their loving relationship they had 2 children, Charles Jr. and Becky (Mount). As an employee of Western Electric for over 30 years, Charlie provided a wonderful home for his wife and family. After raising their children, Charlie and Susan provided loving care for all five of their grandchildren. Charlie had a heart of gold, and could always be found in the bleachers cheering on his grandchildren at all their sporting events, and even dance recitals.

The family would like to thank the exceptional staff at the Josie Harper Hospice House and CHI Hospice for making Dad’s final days comfortable and peaceful.

He was preceded in death by wife of 66 years, Susan Palensky; Charlie is survived by: Son Charlie Palensky; Daughter Becky (Brad) Mount; Grandchildren: Josh, Jerad, Zach, Jessie, Kayci; 5 Great Grandchildren; Sister Geraldine Vanek; many other relatives and friends.
