Modie, Joseph 'PaPa Joe' Jr.

Joseph 'Papa Joe' Modie Jr. passed away March 24, 2014 at the age of 72 in Montgomery, Texas. He was born December 26, 1941 in Syracuse, New York to Joseph and Luetta Modie. Joe was an active member of the Miller Hose Fire Department in Newfane, New York for 11 years and the Millard Fire Department in Omaha, Nebraska for 15 plus years. Also, he was a member of the boy scouts. Joe was a long term member of the Telephone Pioneers of America along with a 40 plus year career with Western Electric followed by a second career at Culver's of The Woodlands, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph Modie Sr. and Luetta Edwards Modie. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Patricia Modie, daughters, Kimberly Welge and husband Joseph, Tammy Thompson and husband Alan and Bridget Johnson, grandchildren, Tara Toval and husband Clyde, Brittney, Paul and Kyle Welge, Alison and Taylor Johnson; Haley and Summer Thompson and great grandson, Reid Toval. Sisters, Marion Capria and husband George, Susan Modie, Karen Palmeter; Sharon Wilbur and husband Michael, sister in law, Nancy Rees and husband William. Numerous nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Visitation: Friday, March 28, 2014 from 6-7 P.M. at Cashner Funeral Home.

Services: Friday, March 28, 2014 at 7:00 PM. at Cashner Colonial Chapel, with Tim Crist officiating.
