Dale Karloff, 76, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away at home. His funeral
service will begin at 10:30 am on Monday March 21st at All Saints Episcopal
Church. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm on Sunday March 20th, family will be
present from 4-7pm at the Kahler- Dolce Funeral Home in Papillion, Nebraska.
Dale Edward Karloff was born on October 7, 1934 to Edward and Edna (Schomer)
Karloff where he was raised on the family farm near Millard. He graduated
from Millard High School in 1954 at which time he attended the University of
Nebraska at Lincoln. He enlisted in the Army. He returned home to help on
the farm and was employed by Western Electric. On June 14, 1958, he married
Emma Lou Mabry in Omaha, Nebraska. They made their home in Millard where
they raised their 3 children. Dale was proud to farm on the family farm for
10 years while working at AT&T so he could make sure he could take the
family on their yearly summer vacations.
Dale was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church. He received the Good
Conduct Medal from the Army. He was Past Master of the Papillion Masonic
Lodge, Past Commander of VFW Post 8334, Past Commander of the Cooties. He
was an active member of the Honor Guard for the VFW/American Legion Millard
Post. Dale was a scout leader and a softball coach while his children were
growing. During the holiday season Dale was the Valentino's Santa for
several years. He was active in Junior Achievement, the German American
Society and the Bears Club. When the weather turned cold he enjoyed
wintering in Texas with Em.
Dale is preceded in death by his father Ed. Happy for sharing his life are
his wife Emma Lou, son Brett of Omaha, his daughters Tammy (Todd Laube) of
Madison, South Dakota, Julie Karloff of Thermopolis, Wyoming; his 6
grandchildren, Stephanie, Michelle, Jourdon, Laurenne (Joe McGill), Brett
Jr. (Mackenzie), and Emily; four great grandchildren, Rilee, Holden, Nevaeh
and Charolette; his mother, Edna of Omaha, his brother Dennis (Nancy) of
Omaha, his sister Kay (Jim Kahler) of Dell Rapids, South Dakota, and several
nieces and nephews.
