Dolores “Dee” M. Johnson, 82 years, of Fremont, Nebraska died at her
home Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Dolores was born May 21, 1933 in Wood
River, Nebraska to Arlo and Clara (Dibbern) Garrison.
She lived at Wood River and Kearney, Nebraska area until 1961 and then
her family moved to Fremont. Dolores married Charles Dodd September 3,
1949 in Kearney. They later divorced. In 1975 she moved to the Elkhorn
and Omaha, Nebraska area. Dolores married
Elmer Johnson in Omaha, NE
January 1, 1977. Dolores and Elmer retired from Western Electric in
Omaha in 1989 and moved to Pahrump, Nevada. However, they decided that
retirement was not for them so they both went back to work. She worked
for Hafen Realty for several years and then worked as a waitress and
hostess at Mt. View Casino until she retired again in July 2013. She was
very social and enjoyed the company of friends. She made many close and
dear friends that made a huge impact on her life while living in
Pahrump. She played the fiddle with the “Off The Wall” country band with
her husband, Elmer while in Nebraska. He preceded her in death February
2, 2012. She moved back to Fremont in June of 2015.
She is survived by son, Randy and wife, Diane Dodd of Pleasant Hill,
California; daughters, Ginger and husband, Larry Shenk of Linwood,
Nebraska, Deborah and husband, Harvey Bunn and Lori and husband, John
Lang all of Fremont; stepson, Rod Johnson of Omaha; stepdaughter, Vicki
and husband, Ron Frey of Omaha; brother, Jerome Garrison of Omaha;
eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer Johnson;
brothers, Kenneth, Roderick and Eugene; and two great granddaughters.
Services: A Celebration of Life will be 11:30 A.M., Tuesday, July 28,
2015 at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, NE. The Rev. David Coe of
Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont will officiate.
Visitation: Will be a half hour prior to the service.
Interment: Will be at a later date.
Memorials: the family suggests memorials be directed to the American
Lung Association in lieu of flowers.
Dee retired in 1989.
