Betty E. Drews, died Wednesday, November
7, 2018 at Methodist Fremont Health in Fremont. She was born January
17, 1934 in Culverton, Georgia to Eddie and Thelma (Hadden) Johnson.
Betty grew up in Tifton, Georgia and was a 1951 graduate of Tifton High
School. She married Leo Drews on December 11, 1955 in Pitts, Georgia.
They moved to Fremont and she was employed by Western Electric/Lucent
Technologies in Omaha, retiring from there in 1991. She was a member of
Salem Lutheran Church in Fremont, Telephone Pioneers of America, Friday
Night Follies Bowling League, Tuesday Night Women’s Golf League at
Whitetail Run and Fremont Airboat Club Women’s Auxiliary and served as a
past president.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Leo Drews of Fremont; sons,
Doug (Cindi Kern) Drews and David (Kathleen) Drews all of Fremont;
daughter, Sherri (Scott) Johannesen of Fremont; son-in-law, Tom Barton
of Surprise, Arizona; brothers, Tommy (Sandra) Johnson of Tifton;
sister-in-law, Carol Johnson of Tifton; fourteen grandchildren and 8
great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lisa Barton; and
brothers, Johnny, Roy, Charles and Billy Johnson.
Visitation with family receiving friends will be Sunday from 5 PM to 7
PM at the funeral home and again Monday one hour prior to the service at
the funeral home.
Services: 10:30 A.M., Monday, November 12, 2018 at Moser Memorial
Chapel in Fremont.
Interment: Will be at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont.
Memorials: Directed to the family for a charity yet to be
determined.
